Two Pakistani sailors found adrift on a barge in the Arabian Sea on Sunday are thanking their lucky stars for Canada's HMCS Charlottetown, which picked them up after three days without food, water or shelter from the elements.

Near the shore of Somalia the sea rovers hijacked the arctic tug boat 'Svitzer Korsakov'with the Russians aboard going to Sakhalin.

The captain of the tugboat towing a crane that hit the J.E. McTeer Bridge last April has had his license suspended for six months, according to the U.S. Coast Guard. The company that owns the boat could face a fine of up to $75,000.

Cunard Lines announces that its three 'Queen'flagships - the Queen Mary 2, the Queen Victoria and the famed Queen Elizabeth 2 will depart from the New York Harbor at 6:30 PM. The ships will rendezvous for a brief sailing past the Statue of Liberty. Cunard will also sponsor a fireworks display. This is the first time in Cunard's 168-year history that it has had three 'Queens'in service at the same time, and also the first time all of its Queen-series cruise liners have been in the same place at the same time. Cunard will retire the QE2 in November 2008, and will inaugurate its replacement in 2010.

YANGJIANG, Guangdong Province, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) -- An
800-year-old merchant boat raised from the South China Sea on Friday is well
protected, an expert said here on Saturday.
An early examination showed the 30-meter-long vessel,
'Nanhai No. 1', wrapped in a huge sealed steel box with tons of seawater and
silt, was 'perfectly protected'during the lifting process, said Wu Jiancheng,
chief of the archaeological project.
