The two survivors and the family of a woman killed when their 24-foot pleasure boat capsized in a June collision with a barge in Long Island Sound sued the barge company Friday.
The suit was filed in State Supreme Court in the Bronx on behalf of boat owner Raphael Rivera of the Bronx, his brother Efrain of Rhode Island, and the estate of Raphael's girlfriend, Leibe Ociele Medina, also of the Bronx. They accused the owner of the barge and the tug pushing it, Seaboat Inc. of Bristol, R.I., of negligence and wrongful death.
