Bay Houston Gets New Z-Tech Tug PDF Print E-mail

Bay Houston has taken possession of the first of three Z-Tech 7500 tugs. The Wesley A is only the second Z-Tech tug to be built in the United States. The company expects to receive the second tug in April 2008 and the third in February 2009. The tug was built at the Main Iron Works in Houma, LA. With the addition of the Wesley A, the Bay Houston fleet stands at 16.

Norway To Build Ship Tunnel PDF Print E-mail

Norway is making plans to build the first tunnel designed for ships. The tunnel will serve ships near Stad, which frequently must wait for calm weather to travel along the coast. The 5,600-ft tunnel is expected to cost about $310M (USD), take five years to build and will re-route ship traffic through a peninsula, rather than around the coast.
