The BBC reported that a British Coast Guard vessel was placed on standby after a tanker carrying 5,000 tons of sulphuric acid ignored advice to move the ship from Pentland Firth before dropping anchor to make repairs. While repairs were underway, the Maltese-registered West Sailor began to drift near Orkney in gale force winds. In April, the same ship hosted a bonfire in its engine room while off the coast of Ireland.

Kotug International BV christened two new Rotortugs in Hamburg last week, the last in a series of four the company has commissioned. The 65-ton bollard pull RT Antonie and RT Zoe were built at the ASL Marine Shipyard in Singapore. RT Antonie is assigned to the Port of Bremerhaven and RT Zoe is assigned to the Port of Hamburg.
