A Baltimore jury awarded $7.1 million to a tugboat deckhand whose jaw was broken five years ago when the tension from a misplaced mooring rope loosed a steel stanchion from its base and catapulted it toward his face.
NAPLES, Fla.- Crewmembers from Coast Guard Air Station Miami hoist four crewmembers from a tug-and-barge that was taking on water Nov. 22, about 30 miles west of Naples. Crewmembers from the Coast Guard Cutter Pea Island, a 110-foot cutter homeported in Key West, Fla., and Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater, Fla., also assisted.
