Tug Welder Found Dead In Delaware River PDF Print E-mail

The medical examiner has ruled the death of Floyd 'Pete'Nelson, 57, an accident. Nelson, who worked for a tugboat company in Chester, PA was discovered in the Delaware River by a boater on Saturday, Sept. 1. He was last seen working in a dry-dock area on August 30. Police have not determined how Nelson, who was the father of the Orlando Magic's Jameer Nelson, ended up in the water. Funeral services were held on Friday, September 7.

Poughkeepsie — It could have been bad — catastrophically bad.
A fire inside a 4-million-gallon oil tank full of home heating oil on the shore of the Hudson River yesterday had the potential to either blow sky-high, rupture into the river, or both.
