HOUSTON (AP) - Authorities say a 54-year-old man fell to his death while working on a tugboat in the Houston Ship Channel.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office says Thursday night's death was accidental. The incident occurred about 10:15 p.m. in the Channelview area.

Officials told the Houston Chronicle the man climbed ladders to an upper deck on the tugboat but was found moments later on the lower deck by a co-worker.

Paramedics called to the scene pronounced the man dead.
