A shortage of welders has meant longer hours for those already employed with the company.

A spokesperson for McGinnis says there are immediate openings for anyone qualified. Those interested should contact the company at their South Point, Ohio location.

The new Tug, christened the J-A Ward on saturday, is named after James Ward the Third- a McGinnis employee for 29 years. It is the first boat built by the company since 1981.

Employees from McGinnis Incorporated built the brand new 21-hundred horse power boat.

Company President Rick Griffith says with the successful completion they most likely will continue to build other boats.
