The captain of the tugboat towing a crane that hit the J.E. McTeer Bridge last April has had his license suspended for six months, according to the U.S. Coast Guard. The company that owns the boat could face a fine of up to $75,000.

The Sara Kaitlin, owned by Savannah Marine Services, was towing a barge and crane operated by Charleston-based Marinex Construction on April 26, 2007, when the crane's boom struck the underside of the McTeer bridge, leading to its partial closure through mid-June
