Bollinger has signed contracts for construction of three tank barges for Melville, N.Y.-based Bouchard Ocean Services.

The contracts are for one 80,000-barrel and two 60,000-barrel barges. Contract details were not disclosed. The 80,000-barrel tank barge, to be built at Bollinger’s Harvey shipyard, is a 399-foot vessel with 12 cargo compartments and three separate pumping systems. The two 60,000-barrel tank barges, being built at Bollinger’s Amelia yard, are 350-foot vessels with 10 cargo compartments and two pumping systems. “These three barges will be built to the highest standards in the industry that both Bouchard and our customers demand,” said Bouchard President and CEO Martin Bouchard. http://www.neworleanscitybusiness.com/viewStory.cfm?recID=25526
