Capt. Pat Yoes, a spokesman for the St. Charles Sheriff's Office, said a member of Boudreaux's family identified him Saturday after divers pulled him from the sunken boat.

The boat, Gate-Way, sank early Wednesday while it was moving barges near the Shell-Motiva oil refinery. Its captain was reported missing at the timeBoudreaux's body was found in the boat's wheelhouse, according to the U.S. Coast Guard, which is in charge of the investigation.

A crewman from the boat who was on a coal barge when the boat sank fell into the river but was rescued safely. Attorneys for the boat's owners, Specialty Marine Services of Lutcher, have said they don't know why the boat sank, but they noted the river is high and the current is strong.
