Sunken tugboat to stay in water PDF Print E-mail

 tugboat that sank off the N.C. coast a year ago, killing three crew members, may become another attraction for divers and fishermen in the Graveyard of the Atlantic.
The owner of the tugboat Valour scrapped plans earlier this year to salvage the 135-foot vessel from the sea floor about 35 miles southeast of the Cape Fear River.

Now the company, Overseas Shipholding Group, is planning to leave the boat in the water and is working with the Coast Guard to remove pollution and navigation hazards

The Valour has been under water since Jan. 18, when it was pulling a barge with 5.5 million gallons of fuel and foundered in 15-foot seas and 40-knot winds.
