Somali pirates have released the crew of the Golden Nori unharmed. The 23 crew members were seized along with their ship six weeks ago while transporting a load of benzene. A man claiming to be one of the pirates said that a ransom was paid, but that claim could not be confirmed. Currently, the US Navy reports that no ships are being held by Somali pirates. Somalia has had no functional government since 1991. The Panamanian-flagged vessel is currently underway after pirates departed the vessel Dec. 12.
