Crowley Maritime Adds Heavy Lift Barge Crowley Maritime christened and launched barge 455-3, the third heavy-lift flat deck barge to be built and delivered to Crowley in 2007. 455-3, along with 455-2 and the Marty J., was constructed by Gunderson Marine in Portland, OR. The barges are 400 feet in length, have a 105-foot wide deck, and offer a uniform deck load capacity of 4,200 pounds per square foot. The barge is designed to assist with offshore project work in the Gulf of Mexico, but could also be used in Alaska for similar services.
