The US Coast Guard was dispatched to evacuate a crew member of the laker Adam E. Cornelius after his hand was severed in a deck accident. The crewman's hand became caught between a pier cleat and the line with which he was working. No update was available on the injured man. Click Read More to read the full Coast Guard press release From The United States Coast Guard: CLEVELAND - The Coast Guard medically evacuated a crewman from the Laker Adam E. Cornelius after his hand was cut off Wednesday at approximately 10:20 p.m. at the stone dock near Marblehead, Ohio. The man was injured after he was working the lines that tied the laker to the pier, where his hand was caught between the cleat on the pier and the line. Coast Guard Station Marblehead launched a 25-foot response boat to assist the injured crewman and transferred him to awaiting Emergency Medical Services.
