Two Dutch Ships Meet At Gibralter - No Injuries Reported PDF Print E-mail

According to the Khaleej Times, an oil tanker collided with a cargo ship off the coast of Gibralter. No spill was detected following the accident. No injuries were reported aboard either Dutch-flagged vessel, although the cargo ship, which was loaded with scrap metal at the time of the accident, is partially submerged and resting on a sand bar. From the Khaleej Times:

MADRID - An oil tanker on Sunday collided with a cargo ship in the Gibraltar straits, but there was no danger of oil pollution, Spanish authorities said. The oil tanker’s hold, containing 9,000 tons of crude oil, was not damaged in the accident south of the Iberian peninsula, according to the authorities.
