Ouachita River bridge closed after tug accident |

HARRISONBURG (AP) -- A tugboat pushing barges on the Ouachita River struck a bridge at Harrisonburg, damaging the support system and forcing the rerouting of traffic on Louisiana Highway 8.
State Police said the accident happened Thursday night. There were no injuries.State transportation officials today are evaluating the damage to the bridge.The state Department of Transportation and Development said there was no estimate when the bridge would be reopened. The alternate route will be: Louisiana 8 to U.S. 425 at Sicily Island to U.S. 84 at Ferriday to Louisiana 124 at Jonesville back to Louisiana 8 at Harrisonburg.http://www.ktbs.com/viewnews.cfm?news_id=3535&title=Ouachita%20River%20bridge%20closed%20after%20tug%20accident
