Monday, 23 July 2007 03:30
The Business Times Online is reporting that virtually all cargo entering the United States on ships will be scanned for radiation.  The new procedures are part of the Office of Homeland Security's efforts to secure the nation's ports. The scanners will be looking for evidence of a hidden nuclear device or 'dirty bomb.'  Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff says that more equipment is needed to help speed the scanning process.
