The Port of Vancouver, WA has hired 26 additional longshoremen to assist with the rising volume of cargo moving through the port. Earlier in the month, Rappaport Energy announced that it had reached agreement with the Port of Vancouver (WA) to build a port on 30 acres at the Columbia Gateway. The Rappaport project will create 135 construction jobs, and 95 permanent jobs, once the build is complete. The lease includes 30 acres of property, rail line access, a liquid bulk-loading terminal and infrastructure improvements.
