Seakeeper has released a new vessel stabilization system called Stability Control that controls pitch, yaw and roll on any vessel with a planing hull. Performance is limited to speeds of less than 20 knots. The system works by rapidly extending transverse blades at the intersection of the transom and the bottom of the boat. The blades operate in place of trim tabs and control running boat trim when active stabilization is not running. Peak power consumption for the system is 1.5 kW. Seakeeper is taking orders for the system now and will begin delivery after October 1. Professional installation is required. The system is priced at $21,500, not including installation.

Seakeeper has also introduced the Gyro 7000, designed for boats 35' and longer. The Gyro is a spinning flywheel in a vacuum which resists boat roll at low speeds. Multiple units can be installed on boats greater than 55' for optimal performance. The Gyro 7000 is designed to fit under the aft cockpit or in the engine room. Seakeeper is taking orders now for delivery in March 2008. A single Gyro 7000 unit is priced at $55,000.
