An historic wooden boat used during the World War II period makes its way through the Port of Houston. The antique tugboat named Port Commission No. 1 was taken by land from the Port of Houston to the Greensport Terminal in Galena Park. The wooden boat, which was built in Galveston, originally launched in April 1941. The Port Commission No. 1 was used to carry Allied officers, foreign dignitaries, port authorities and local politicians during that period. The boat was also used to prevent wartime sabotage. The American Seaborne Heritage Society will restore the historic tugboat with help from Boy Scout Troop 607. The Boy Scout Troop will undertake their part of this task as an Eagle Scout project. http://www.myfoxhouston.com/myfox/pages/News/Detail?contentId=3743814&version=1&locale=EN-US&layoutCode=TSTY&pageId=3.2.1
