Coastal Watch has established a Web cam showing live video of the stranded Pasha Bulker, off the eastern coast of Australia. Three salvage tugs, the Pacific Salvor, the Keera and the Woona are on standby, waiting for an opportunity to refloat the 40,000 coal ship damaged in a wild storm last week. Heavy seas, as seen on the web cam video, are complicating the salvage operation.

Officials will no longer say when they expect to be able to move the ship, but have indicated that it may remain on the sand bar until the end of June. Svitzer is managing the salvage operation and has a 22-person crew aboard the vessel to stabilize it and prevent further damage. The ship is known to have a hole in the outer hull and the inner hull is still intact. The Australian Transportation Ministry has moved oil spill containment equipment into the area around Nobby's Beach, where the ship is resting, however aerial inspections of the vessel have shown no evidence of a spill.
